Blog Questions 2025

I was tagged to do this weeks ago (oops) by my friend fLaMEd over at flamedfury.com! He's normally the one I know who is aware of these sorts of questions and challengs, haha. My blog isn't quite as consistent or regular as his, but I hope I can answer thes questions all the same~

Why did you start blogging in the first place?

One of the benefits of having a personal website, for me, is having a place where I can put all the random shit I like to talk about. Sometimes I want to yap about something but nobody really asked!

What platform are you using to manage your blog, and why do you use it?

I will admit, I do everything by hand in Notepad++! I tried out Bearblog for a bit but it's just so much more... clear to me how to make everything look exactly how I want it to in standard HTML files. It's not super efficient, but I don't have a whole ton to post about anyway, so it serves my purposes.

Have you blogged on other platforms before?

Not to any major extent, no. I've always been more of a consumer than a creator online. I used Google+ back when that was relevant, and I did quite a bit of microblogging on Twitter before deleting it a few years back, and I have a Tumblr but I mostly use it to reblog posts instead of making my own. Now that I have my own website it feels kind of redundant to be super active on social media!

How do you write your posts?

Normally I draft them in normal Notepad with no markdown or formatting or anything, and then I copy+paste it into Notepad++ for formatting.

When do you feel most inspired to write?

Ehh, it comes and goes. Normally I want to talk about something that my friends have already heard plenty about, or something along those lines. These sort of prompt lists tend to get pushed to the side for me, since my blogging is so sporadic.. Sorry fLaMEd ^^"

Do you normally publish immediately after writing, or do you let it simmer?

I publish pretty much immediately if the formatting is done! Sometimes I leave a post to simmer in non-formatted Notepad land for a bit if I'm unsure about it though. If it's left for more than a day or two it will probably just get scrapped. Everything I do is based on momentum haha.

What's your favorite post on your website?

I have a soft spot for this post I made after the 2024 election a couple months ago, called None of This is New. These past few months- well, this past week, really- have been just... so much, on an existential level, and I think that kneejerk hopeful and angry reaction I had back in November is the sort of energy I need to keep. I also got an email from someone thanking me for it and saying that it made them feel less alone and I might have cried a little bit.

Any future plans for the website?

Wahh of course. Nothing absolutely groundbreaking, but I'd like to set up a proper RSS feed at some point. I also have a handful of shrine pages and blog posts I'd like to make, but the semester is finally kicking into gear so I've been a bit too busy to really sit down and contemplate big website happenings.

Your Turn!

I want to tag my friend and Workshop co-host James in this challenge, he's much more of a Blogger than I am and I'm sure he will have some interesting answers LOL
